About our group

Penrith & District Red Squirrel Group became a registered charity in 2006 the Committee decided that in 2008 we should organise ourselves further and have paid membership. Not only will this provide us with a regular source of income but will also make our volunteers and supporters feel they are playing a real part in the group.

The group is made up entirely of volunteers and our administration costs are minimal but the need for funds is ever present.

Our volunteers help us in a variety of ways from fundraising, helping raise awareness at agricultural shows across the county and at public meetings. We also have volunteers, who are trained to our code of conduct in grey control and monitoring, who between them cover the whole of our area.
